The West Valley Arts Council invites artists to submit 2D and 3D artwork for consideration for the annual Members' Salon exhibit at the Arts HQ Gallery in Surprise. The exhibit will feature the works of our current WVAC artist members in Arizona.  It will be a comprehensive art show of varied creative and skilled works of both emerging and master-level artists, celebrating the talent, artistry, and originality of their works in the tradition of the Parisian art salons of the 18th and 19th century.

ELIGIBILITY
This opportunity is open to valid West Valley Arts Council Artist Members 18 and older living in Arizona. There is no additional entry fee.  To check your membership status, log into the westvalleyarts.org website or contact Daisy at the Arts HQ Gallery (623)584-2626.

CRITERIA

  • 2D and 3D works are welcome and encouraged.
  • Each entry must be the artist’s original work. No giclee or other types of prints will be accepted other than photographic or digital artwork.  AI-generated artwork will not be permitted.
  • Artwork must not be previously exhibited at any WVAC event or exhibition in the last two years.
  • Visual themes and media are open, however please consider the nature of viewership as the Arts HQ Gallery does cater to families and children.
  • All 2D artwork must be properly framed and/or wired, not to exceed 20 lbs. Saw tooth is acceptable for small/lightweight pieces.  3D artwork will be placed on pedestals, hung, or can be free-standing.
  • No pour art will be accepted. 
  • Selected work must include a label or identification on the back of the work, including the name of the artist and title.
  • All selected works are not required to be listed for sale, but it is highly encouraged to support the artist and the West Valley Arts Council programs..
  • WVAC will handle all sales and retain a 25% sales commission on any sales.
  • Artists may wish to personally insure their work. WVAC provides minimal insurance for lost, stolen or damaged work.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Up to 3 entries per submission.
  2. Entries must include an image of each piece (images must be at least 300 dpi and .jpg or .png format.), along with the title, size, medium, and price for each.  Pricing should include our 25% commission.
  3. Biography of the artist
  4. Description / story behind the work.
  5. Website and social media handles on Facebook or Instagram are not required, but are recommended to help share publicity about the exhibit.

SELECTION
Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of knowledgeable WVAC staff members/key partners.

EXHIBIT INFORMATION
The Members’ Salon exhibit will open Friday, November 7, 2025 with an Opening Reception from 5-7pm at the Arts HQ Gallery in Surprise, AZ, 16126 N. Civic Center Plaza, ste 102.  During the opening, artists are encouraged to attend to share their art and story with fellow artists, visitors, and patrons. The exhibit will run through Thursday, December 18, 2024.  
Artists are responsible for delivery and pick up of their artwork to the Arts HQ Gallery.  Pick up will be following the exhibit on Friday, December 19 or Saturday, December 20, 10am-1pm.  
Promotion for the exhibit will be featured on the West Valley Arts Council website and social media via Facebook and Instagram. Artists are also encouraged to promote the exhibit in tandem on their own social media platforms.

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER

Submission Deadline: Saturday, October 18, 10pm.

Acceptance Notification: By Tuesday, October 21.

Artwork Drop Off dates: Friday, October 31 or Saturday, November 1, 10am-2pm.  

Opening Reception: Friday, November 7, 5-7pm.

Exhibit run dates: November 7 - December 18, 2025.

Artwork Pickup date: Friday, December 19 or Saturday, December 20, 10am-2pm.

The West Valley Arts Council invites Arizona artists to bring their boldest vision to the canvas for an unforgettable night of high energy and creative competition at Canvas Clash 2025.


This live art battle challenges artists to create under pressure while a live audience cheers them on—and votes for the winner.


🎯 COMPETITION DETAILS

✌️ Two Rounds of Live Art Creation

🎨 Round 1:
  12 selected artists compete based on a surprise theme, which will be drawn at random live at the event.

🔥 Round 2 (Finals):
  The Top 4 artists return for a final showdown, where a secret theme will be revealed on the spot.

⏱ Time Limit: 1 hour per round

🎒 What to Bring:

Artists must bring all other materials, including brushes, paints, tools, and medium of choice.
A runner will be available during the event for clean water.

🔍 Submission Requirements:
